ArmA 2

Postby 7|Sabre » Fri Jun 19, 2009 10:07 am

Anyone a follower of the game? Started back when OpFlash originally came out. ArmA 2 looks like it's gonna be great.

For anyone that doesn't know ArmA is a civilian version of VBS which is a simulator that the military uses to train. It's extremely realistic and the battlefield is huge.

Here is a few videos... first one is really awesome:

Haven't played the first, but have had thoughts about picking this one up. It looks pretty good. Anyone know what the multi-player is going to be like?

Large scale CTI [Capture the Island], at least from the past games (ArmA, OpFlash) the games. The game doesn't have a bunch of maps, there are a few islands. You fight on countries and according to the game information there are several armies [compared to two in the previous games]. You fight over cities and towns in the country[island].

COOP - Human players vs. AI.

Custom game modes scripted by people...

Game is extremely customizable. Shit loads of addons/islands/scripts/models are made for the ArmA games by the community.

Yup! They have already released a patch for the game. It's a fucking blast! Actually, Cack and I have been working on getting the aow ArmA II server up and running. It will be a 32 player Coop Domination server. Hopefully it will be up and running tonight! :P

Server is almost there! A few tweaks tonight should resolve our bandwidth issues. Cross your fingers!

No Garuntees in Video Games man. I love the shit out of it and will probly continue to play for a while. I will also get MW2 when it comes out. I like variety. If I want to just straight shoot shit to get frustration out = killing Floor. If I feel like running and gunning = COD. If I want to play tactical Ass game that has full gameplay freedom = Arma II.

Hope you do get Arma II though!
